Hey there - welcome to the third issue of Remote Writing :) In case you’re new here, this is a newsletter run by two anon freelance writers (us!) who want to pass on great opportunities that might help someone looking to quit their corporate job get a freelance + remote writing gig.

Freelancing Tip

It’s the classic chicken and egg situation—clients only want to work with you if you have a portfolio, you can only build a portfolio if a client agrees to work with you, right? Wrong. You certainly don’t need a client to create a portfolio: write an article and publish it on Medium, start a newsletter, edit books already in the public domain and write about your thoughts. Break the cycle (and finally have a clear answer to what came first—it was your portfolio, obviously!).
