Write for the MIT Tech Review, earn $800 per article, and get paid to review your newest electronic gadget

Hey there - welcome to the seventh issue of Remote Writing :)

If you’re new here: this is a newsletter run by two anon freelance writers (us!) who want to pass on great opportunities that might help someone looking to quit their corporate job get a freelance + remote writing gig.

To all our readers: we’d love to hear from you! Hit reply and tell us what you liked and didn’t like in this issue.

Subscribe to get 5 writing opportunities and 1 freelancing tip in your inbox, three times a week 🙂

Opportunities:

  1. MIT Technology Review is calling for pitches about technology meeting the real world, paying $800-8,000 (varying based on the length of the piece). Learn more about what they’re looking for here, and send your pitches to [email protected].

  2. CNET is paying freelancers  $500 per article—if you love shopping (or window shopping) for the latest electronic device, send an email to [email protected]

  3. KULE is hiring a freelance copywriter interested in the fashion/lifestyle industry at $60-75/hour . Apply here.

  4. A client on Superpath is looking for a B2B freelance writer for 2-3 articles a month at $600-800 per article. Apply here.

  5. Buzzfeed is looking for freelance pitches about home cooking and trending food and dining moments. If you’re a foodie who likes to write, send your pitches to [email protected], and learn more about the opportunity here.

Freelancing Tip

Since we’re featuring an opportunity to pitch MIT Tech Review, here’s something most people forget about pitching publications – always send the pitch! If nothing else, it reminds editors that you exist. We’ve lost count of the number of times we’ve had a pitch rejected, only for the editor to email again a few days later: “By the way, would you be interested in writing up [in-house idea]?”

Stay creative,

Saul & Susanna ;)
